Privacy Policy

Auroville Consulting respects your privacy and we are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy also applies to the Solar Village search engine.

Our services include our websites and applications that link to this privacy policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use our services and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This policy applies to information we collect:

  • When you use or interact with our services.
  • In your email, text, and other electronic messages with us.
  • Through our mobile and desktop applications.

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use our services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to this privacy policy. This policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy). Your continued use of our services after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

News and Updates

We provide a blog (News and Updates) in which we publish various posts on topics about our activities in order to circulate our website and its contents on the internet and to increase our visitor numbers.

When you are using our blog functions we collect and store personal information and usage data in order to improve the service as described under Web Analytics. The legal basis for this processing of your personal data is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f of the General Data Protection Regulation.

News and Updates posts may contain third-party embeds, which may in some cases collect and store personal data. These “embeds” are hosted by a third-party and embedded in our Blog. For example YouTube videos, Facebook or Instagram posts and feeds or Twitter tweets that appear within a Blog post. These files send data to the hosting site just as if you were visiting that site directly. For example, when you load a Blog post page with a YouTube video embedded in it, YouTube receives data about your activity. Auroville Consulting does not control what data third parties collect in cases like this, or what they will do with it. The use of personal data by embedded content providers is not covered by this statement, but by the privacy policies of those sites or services.

Newsletter

You can subscribe to our newsletter through which we inform you about the project updates and our latest interesting offerings. The goods and services advertised are specified in the declaration of consent. We use the “EasySendy” newsletter delivery platform to send our newsletter. EasySendy is operated by Dataaegis Software Pvt. Ltd., 1190/18 and 1190/18-1, Anjanadri Avenue, 2nd and 3rd Floor, 26th Main Road, Jaya Nagar 9th Block, Bengaluru-560069, India.

We use the “double opt-in” procedure for registration for our newsletter. This means that, after registering, you receive an email to the email address provided, in which you are asked to confirm that you want to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm your registration within 24 hours, your information is locked and deleted automatically. The aim of this procedure is to prove your registration and, as applicable, to resolve a potential misuse of your personal data.

The following are saved:

  • The email address at which you would like to receive the newsletter.
  • The time and IP address at which you carried out the registration so that the misuse of the email address of a person affected can subsequently be traced.
  • Technical information which is important for the presentation (e.g. browser) as well as data to improve the service (e.g. time of access)
  • Data gathered for statistical purposes such as the opening of the newsletter and your click behaviour on links in the newsletter

Your email address is saved for as long as the subscription to the newsletter is active. The other data gathered as part of your registration are generally deleted within a seven-day period.

You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. This can be carried out using the link provided in each newsletter. This link also enables you to withdraw your consent to saving of the personal data gathered during the registration process.

We also refer you to the refusal options in data gathering for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European area).
